RFID provides a way of uniquely identifying individual animals and their owners providing a valuable capability useful to farmers, food producers, researchers and to pet owners.
Tracking and tracing domestic pets, wildlife and livestock
CoreRFID provides the tools needed by veterinatrians, researchers and animal clinicians to keep track of animals. RFID chips help in tracking of pets through the national Pet Log programme. When used with livestock RFID provides traceability for animal products, control of breeding, management of conservation, and data collection in animal research programmes and in research projects RFID provides easy ways to automatically collect valuable data.
CoreRFID provides:
- injectable RFID tags and disposable syringes with associated Pet Log documentation for companion animal tracking.
- scanners for standard animal tags.
- specialised tags for animal research.
Learn about some of the important issues facing the use of RFID in veterinary applications by downloading our white paper that looks at the PetLog database, European legislation on pony tagging and concerns over the safety of chipping.
"CoreRFID meets our needs for rapid availability injectable RFID tags helping us to tag pets whenever their owners need it." Chris Manning, BVSc, MRCVs, Veterinary Surgeon

Other Agricultural Applications
RFID can also be used in many other areas of agriculture and food processing. RFID can tag containers and re-usable items to speed the return, cleaning and re-use process. They can be used ot track batches through manufacturing and provide traceability from farm to fork. In research, tags can be used to track samples or wild animals in the field.
CoreRFID is happy to discuss with farmers, food manufacturers or distributers how RFID can support their businesses.
