The CoreRFID support approach is based on agreed, customised, comprehensive support packages tuned to the customer’s needs.
CoreRFID recognises that different customers have different capabilities in-house and so may have different RFID support needs. An essential part of the project planning process is to agree the ways in which we will work with our customers during the design, development, implementation, and on-going operations phases.
In order to co-ordinate customer requirement, product shipments, technical resources and the customer’s own project plan CoreRFID provides a nominated Account Manager. In addition to this the customer has direct access to CoreRFID technical staff by telephone or Internet. The CoreRFID support approach includes RFID consulting during the design phases and then as standard, second line and third line support for CoreRFID developed application software products and first line support (with appropriate escalation and response management from third parties) for software development kits and other third party developed software products.
CoreRFID uses rapid application development approaches based on prototyping and collaborative development but is also able to work with customers under such project management appro
aches as PRINCE2. Agreement on project responsibilities and the project governance (including if necessary the involvement of CoreRFID management in project steering boards) is seen as a critical success factor in the delivery of RFID solutions.
CoreRFID appreciates that RFID technology is often the basis of business critical systems which might require further levels of support and are happy to discuss these on a customer or site specific basis.

CoreRFID provides support to all phases of the project lifecycle, helping to establish feasible projects, to deliver them and to ensure that they continue to provide the anticipated benefits through their operational lifetime.
Solution Design & Proving
Devising effective RFID based solution may involve experimentation to determine the most effective combination of readers, antennas, power settings and tags. CoreRFID is always happy to work with customers to determine the most appropriate RFID solution to their business needs. If necessary CoreRFID is able to quote for RFID consulting, design and development work to support pilot implementations and technology evaluations as part of an overall project.
Development & Customisation
CoreRFID offers two approaches to the creation of RFID based applications; development & customisation. Customisation is our preferred approach. Using, wherever possible, existing CoreRFID applications or software components, we customise and adapt the software to meet the customer’s needs. Building on previously proven application code, customisation offers a speedy way to implement robust, customer specific, applications. Development creates a completely new application from scratch, matching exactly the customer’s secified requirements. CoreRFID provides relevant specification, development and testing services. Development capabilities span, portable computing platforms, database systems and web technologies.
Implementation
CoreRFID provides services for implementation that include software installation (if required), user operations training (generally on a “train the trainer” basis) and, if relevant software developer training.
On-Going Support
Continuing support is provided under a Support Contract which delivers, as standard:
- Software update downloads
- Support access to technical expertise using telephone, CoreRFID web site, Live Chat and remote desktop
- Operations support for hosted applications where provided
