One of the UK’s leading rental safety, survey, measurement and communications equipment firms has switched to CoreRFID’s flagship automated inspection system.
ESS Safeforce is using the same version of CheckedOK as its sister company Brandon Hire Station – both are part of Vp PLC, which has 200 outlets throughout the UK.
The Northhamptonshire based firm, which offers over 55,000 items for hire to its 5,000 customers, specialises in the sale, rental and servicing of safety equipment such as gas detectors, safety harnesses and lanyards, breathing apparatus and power supply in hazardous areas.
ESS Safeforce, which offers an on-site servicing and inspection service, is using a customised version of the CheckedOK solution to replace manual, paper-based systems. This will enable the inspection data to be collected at source and transmitted to the hosted database. Reports are then available to the client and ESS Safeforce managers via the Internet. The system has been integrated with the client’s G42 ERP System.
Phil Cresser Hub Operations Manager at Vp PLC comments: ‘The functioning of the equipment is paramount, peoples’ lives can depend upon it, and so inspection is vital to ensuring equipment is calibrated correctly and working properly.’
Munzi Ali Technical Director at CoreRFID comments: ‘CheckedOK handles inspections for lifting equipment and works equally well for any type of safety equipment.
‘The system aims to offer flexibility, tailored to the customers’ specific needs rather than being a rigid software package that the customer has to adapt to.’
CoreRFID’s solutions are used for multiple purposes and its clients include ICL, Ocado and BAE Systems.
