Martec, a Northern Irish company whose key services include the testing and certification of all lifting equipment have partnered with CoreRFID to implement a new Lifting Equipment Inspection System, CheckedOK. Operating on an Android based platform their are hoping to have the system fully functional throughout their business by August this year.
Working with lifting equipment requires Martec to adhere to strict regulatory and conformance standards, such as LOLER & PUWER. Whilst ensuring these safety standards are met, Martec also wanted to speed up the process of the inspection themselves, freeing up resources to be allocated into other areas of the business.
Once fully implemented Martec will be able to fulfil the following key benefits across their business;
- More efficient inspections, equalling more inspections per annum using the same number of inspectors, resulting in a better use of resources
- Removes the need for pen and paper records, saving costs and improving accuracy
- Automated collection of inspection reports and production of regulatory reports, reducing admin efforts
- Enables inspectors to take photos of assets that are deemed damaged or faulty, giving future proof when arranging for the asset to be fixed or replaced
By implementing CoreRFID’s Lifting Equipment Inspection System, CheckedOK, Martec will enable themselves for potential utilisation of RFID technology in the future. By using RFID Products such as RFID Tags and Readers they will be able to improve security, lower costs and shorter the inspection process even further.
